Customer Success: MYO Restobar
MYO Restobar is the offshoot of Kia Hiang Restaurant, serving classic home-style Cantonese dishes, from dim sum to mouth-watering dishes. They are famous for their Kia Hiang Claypot Spring Chicken, listed as a go-to in the Michelin guide. It's a great dining place for business lunches, family dinners and after-work dim sum with friends.

Challenges
Jenny Wong, Managing Partner of MYO Restobar, highlighted that getting service staff for the F&B industry is very difficult due to the stringent regulation in hiring foreign labour. Besides, a few dishes are served in hot clay pots, which increases the risk of servers being scalded when carrying the dishes from the kitchen to the customer's table.
"It's almost imminent that we have to turn to technology, and we come across waiter robots to help us service our customers. The waiter robots ferry food from the kitchen into the main dining area, minimising the number of trips servers make. This gives servers more time to interact and better attend to customer's specific requests," Jenny explained.
How we helped
We conducted a physical site survey at MYO Restobar to understand their business operations. Based on that, we designed a route where the waiter robot will travel and train servers on the usages of our waiter robots. From planning to implementation, we took care of all aspects of MYO Restobar's pain points, such as serving hot dishes and provided solutions that best meet their needs.

"The service from Ourglass Robotics so far, from the inception (introducing the robots and designing the route) to aftersales service, is a thumbs up for us. For any machines, after-sales service is very important. During the initial phase, we face issues like whether the robots will hit the table or whether the route suits our restaurant. Then Ourglass Robotics' technicians and service staff provided their expertise, and they have been the most helpful," Jenny said.
Results
A customer at MYO Restobar shared that she's good with having waiter robots serving dishes as she understands that Singapore is facing manpower shortage, especially for the F&B industry. She doesn't find the usage of robots impersonal, as there are still human servers around to answer her specific request.
"The waiter robot helps to minimise the trips made from the kitchen to the dining area. It saves time and reduces the amount of distances I have to walk. With the waiter robots around, I don't have to go to the kitchen frequently, which reduces potential accidents as the floor is often wet," said Kelly, Waitress from MYO Restobar.
"Ever since we introduced waiter robots, we have never regretted it. In fact, all my service staff now begin to look forward to the partnership with our waiter robots," Jenny said.
